Anesthetic Management of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Syndrome

Objective: The objective was to describe anesthetic management for patients with Charcot-Marie-Tooth syndrome. Method: The study was conducted using a literature review design. A non-systematic, narrative literature review was used, which facilitates a general and specific analysis of the subject of study by examining appropriate techniques for anesthetic management in patients with CMT. Databases such as Scopus, ELSEVIER, Scielo, and PubMed were consulted. Due to the lack of accessible documents and the need to select those that met the inclusion criteria—such as publication date, which in this case was up to 10 years ago. Results: It is considered the most common inherited neuromuscular disorder. Conclusion: In the anesthetic management of CMT, the benefits and drawbacks of each anesthetic technique must be evaluated according to the type of surgical procedure.
