TIC and education in times of pandemic: challenges and learning from a teaching perspective

Abstract

The emergency declaration raised by the covid-19 pandemic, caused the indefinite closure of educational establishments in the country, a situation that led to the use of communication and information technologies (ICT), as alternative and necessary ways to give continuity to the academic training processes of students. The objective was to identify what were the challenges faced by the teachers of the high school "María del Carmen Gavilanes Tenezaca" in the face of the use of ICT tools in the teaching-learning process. Methodologically, we worked from a mixed approach. Among the results are necessary mechanisms for obtaining both qualitative and quantitative data, conducive to substantiate the challenges in which teachers were immersed, as well as the learning that arose by virtue of the use of technology.
