Consequences of adolescent pregnancy

Objective: To analyze the consequences of adolescent pregnancy. Method: Descriptive documentary, 15 articles published in PubMed, Scopus were reviewed. Conclusion: Adolescent pregnancy, especially when related to sexual and intimate partner violence, represents a complex problem that requires a comprehensive intervention. Adolescents in vulnerable situations face higher risks of unwanted pregnancies and physical and psychological complications, exacerbated by the lack of access to contraceptives and reproductive health services. Addressing this reality demands the implementation of policies that include comprehensive sexual education, protection against gender-based violence, and equitable access to physical and mental health services, guaranteeing the well-being and rights of adolescents in at-risk contexts.
