Píldora anticonceptiva de emergencia en adolescentes como amenaza al bienestar

Objetivo: Analizar el uso de la píldora anticonceptiva de emergencia en adolescentes como amenaza al bienestar sanitario. Método: Descriptiva documental, se revisaron 15 articulos publicados en PubMed, Scopus. Conclusión: El uso de la píldora anticonceptiva de emergencia (PAE) en adolescentes, aunque efectivo para la prevención de embarazos no deseados, plantea importantes riesgos para el bienestar sanitario de esta población, especialmente cuando su utilización es frecuente y sin la debida supervisión médica. Los efectos hormonales adversos, la alteración del ciclo menstrual y la falsa sensación de seguridad que puede disminuir el uso de métodos anticonceptivos regulares y aumentar el riesgo de infecciones de transmisión sexual (ITS), evidencian la necesidad de un enfoque preventivo integral.
