Abstract

Objective: Analyze the functional anatomy of the pelvic floor. Method: The primary data that is contracted through consultations are from bibliographic reviews prior to an investigative study and secondary information based on magazines, books and files that are related and recognized effectively. Results and conclusions: The adequate understanding of what is the anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor, allows us to develop both medical and surgical treatments that seek to restore the structure and anatomy in cases of patients with pelvic floor pathology, have more deep information as it is the support of abdominal and pelvic organs during bipedalism and changes in intra-abdominal pressure.
