Abstract

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the right to the truth in abbreviated proceedings in crimes of breach of trust. This research used the quantitative method, based on a documentary-bibliographic review. In addition, the inductive-deductive method was applied. The analytical-synthetic method was also used. It can be concluded that, in the legal-procedural doctrine, a distinction is made between material truth and formal or procedural truth, in order to establish a dividing line between the facts as they occurred and the facts as they were declared proven in the criminal sentence. The victim's right to know the truth only refers to the formal truth declared in the sentence, since, even if in practice the circumstances in which the offense of which he was the victim occurred have been different.
