Indigenous justice practices and the violation of human rights

Abstract

The general objective was to legally analyze the practices of indigenous justice and the violation of human rights. The research method used was the quantitative approach, through the exploration, collection and critical analysis through a documentary typology, supported by the bibliographic design that seeks reflection and analysis, building methods related to the judgment of the phenomenon and thus evaluate or discuss new arguments. In this regard, documentary sources were examined and analyzed at the theoretical level, theses, laws and refereed works, among others, related to the central aspects of the work. It is concluded that, in Ecuador, specifically in the Sierra region and in some indigenous communities, lynchings have been carried out under the name of "indigenous justice", considering that this type of justice is native to our indigenous peoples and nationalities whose communities have been constantly organized in traditions, customs, norms and procedures.
