The rights of ethnic minorities and ancestral peoples in the preservation of the environment

The general objective of this research was to legally analyze the rights of ethnic minorities and ancestral peoples in the preservation of the environment. The research was developed from the quantitative paradigm, it is also supported from a documentary-bibliographic design, through the inquiry, collection and critical documentary analysis and bibliographic reference, based on the methodical and deep exploration of various documentary sources such as scientific research, articles, laws, regulations and refereed works. Describing the findings found, allowing the development of the theoretical body in relation to the subject of study. The population that formed part of the present investigation are the inhabitants of the sector called Chillanes in the Province of Chimborazo. It is concluded that, prior consultation is a constitutional tool of great importance since it regulates the procedures where different rights of the nationalities, peoples and communities, which are the owners of ancestral territories, can be affected.Downloads
