Evaluation of the central sterilization service of the Luis Gabriel Dávila Hospital, Tulcán, Ecuador

Objective: To evaluate the central sterilization service of the Luis Gabriel Dávila Hospital, Tulcán, Ecuador. Method: Descriptive observational study. Conclusion: The Central Sterilization Service of the “Luis G. Dávila” Hospital plays a crucial role in the safety of hospital procedures, but faces significant deficiencies that should be addressed to improve the quality of the service. The lack of an adequate cleaning area, the shortage of specialized personnel and the use of equipment that has exceeded its useful life represent risks that can compromise the effectiveness of sterilization and increase the risk of nosocomial infections.
