Benefits of using fluoride in pediatric patients

Objective: To analyze the benefits of fluoride, use in pediatric patients aged 3 to 6 years. Method: Descriptive documentation, 15 articles located in PubMed, Scopus were analyzed. Conclusion: The use of fluoride in the prevention of caries in pediatric patients remains a fundamental strategy in preventive dentistry, supported by its proven efficacy in various therapeutic modalities, such as mouthwashes, varnishes and silver diamine fluoride. The studies highlight the importance of personalizing interventions according to the individual needs of patients.
