Analysis of job stress in teachers

Abstract

Objective: to analyze the work stress of teachers of the Educational Unit November 11, in the city of Riobamba, Province of Chimborazo - Ecuador. Method: Descriptive observational. Results and Conclusions: The teachers of the November 11 Educational Unit of the city of Riobamba showed a 37.11% exposure to stress. The ED-6 questionnaire showed that the dimensions that have the greatest impact on educators are: poor coping (68.04%), anxiety (60.82%) and pressure (49.48%). On the other hand, the least affected are: maladaptive beliefs with 28.87%, depression with 10.31%, and demotivation with 3.09%. This correlates with the observation and interpretation of the experiences and criteria of the informants, where 3 affected categories were deduced: work challenges, administrative problems in the provision of services and implementation of defense mechanisms.
