Objective: To detect the consumption style of students from different universities in Ecuador after returning to the classroom. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results: 47.56% (n=78) chose carbohydrates as their largest portion, 42.07% (n=69) chose proteins and 10.36% (n=17) chose vegetables. No statistically significant differences were found (p >0.05). Conclusion: A relationship is established between the factors for which students are unable to eat a healthy diet. It was observed that university students have a poor diet due to main factors which are lack of time and stress, resulting in high cholesterol and poor nutrition. Analyzing that a greater emphasis should be placed on the nutrition of university students, since if they have a better diet they will be able to have a better academic performance.
