Abstract

Objective: To analyze the risk factors of chronic malnutrition in order to improve the nutritional status of children from 1 to 2 years old in the Cercado parish of the city of Cotacachi - Ecuador. Method: Descriptive observational. Conclusion: 67% of parents have an income of less than 100$, which constitutes a risk factor for chronic malnutrition in children from 1 to 2 years old, since the existence of economic deficiencies makes it difficult to have access to a balanced diet rich in nutrients, because at home they must adapt to the possibilities that their income provides, and at the same time the lack of knowledge and access to sources of information go hand in hand with the economic factor.
