Abstract

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study is to analyse the perceptions of science teachers in Peru, Panama, Colombia, and Mexico regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI). It is a quantitative, cross-sectional, and descriptive comparative study with 292 teachers. A questionnaire was administered to measure self-efficacy, anxiety and stress, expected benefits, ease of use, attitude, and behavioural intention. Overall acceptance was moderately high, with a mean of 3,72/5. Attitude toward AI (β = 0.751) and ease of use (β = 0.421) directly predict behavioural intention, while anxiety was not significant. Access to technological resources showed the greatest impact, with d = 0.68. The study concludes that, in the studied sample, the TAM model explains 69.7% of the variance in usage intention and that teacher self-efficacy for AI use should be strengthened. These findings warrant further studies with representative samples.
