Awareness strategies in the environmental dimension. Case: District Educational Institution Madre Laura, Colombia

The observed problem of the poor disposal of solid waste left by the primary school students of the District Educational Institution Madre Laura in the Department of Magdalena in Colombia at the end of the recess; evidenced the little awareness that there is to care for the environment; reason why the central purpose was to determine the awareness strategies for awareness raising that lead to the students of the primary section to the construction of a society in solidarity with the ecological niche. From the qualitative approach oriented to the observation of the students' behaviors outside the classroom. By the third visit, through the researcher-key informant interaction, a group of girls had become aware of how their school looked and had already reduced the amount of waste. It was concluded that the strategies made possible the space for self-reflection that generates positive changes to care for the environment.
