The purpose of this research is to understand the treatment of organic and inorganic waste in the creation of home gardens in families of the Montecristo neighborhood through a healthy environment strategy to mitigate vectorial diseases. For this reason, the study was conducted under the qualitative approach, whose paradigm is constructivist, being the type of research the action research. The population comprises 230 families, with a sample of 20. Therefore, the educational proposal called "Creation of home gardens, towards a healthy environment" was designed. The results showed that a mixture of waste is produced in the homes, they also showed that they reuse plastic bottles, and finally that they are willing to plant because it contributes to self-sufficiency. It was concluded that the participants were sensitized to the need to implement home gardens for the treatment of organic and inorganic waste.
