Abstract

The objective of the research was to analyze the incorporation of the sports practice block in the elementary sublevel of the Ecuadorian Physical Education curriculum. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional research. The study population was 126 Physical Education teachers assigned to the Cuenca Norte School District 01D01, with a voluntary non-probabilistic sampling of 115 teachers who were given a survey validated by specialists and using the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. Methods of bibliographic review, synthetic analytical, deductive and structured survey were used. It is concluded that the incorporation of the sports practice block in the elementary sublevel has been little addressed in the research field, however, teachers consider that it is a component with a pedagogical nature that contributes to the motor and cognitive development of students at an early age and should be incorporated into the national Physical Education curriculum.
