Academic performance and socioeconomic status of high school children

Abstract

The present study aims to determine the influence of socioeconomic level on the academic performance of high school children through data collection and analysis. The methodology is descriptive with a non-experimental design and a mixed approach, a sample of 19 parents, aged between 5 and 6 years old, selected by stratified probability sampling with proportional allocation was used. The data were analyzed using the Pearson coefficient and the results indicated no correlation between Academic Performance and with the variable of parental education level. In addition, it was determined that there are no statistically significant differences between Socioeconomic Level and Academic Performance, concluding in proposing the strengthening of academic performance.
