Emotional Intelligence of the Educational Manager and Labor Climate in Venezuelan Bolivarian Schools

Abstract

The research had as objective to analyze the emotional intelligence of the educational manager and the work climate in Bolivarian Schools. He focused on a descriptive study with field design. The population consisted of fifteen (15) directors and fifty-eight (58) teachers in the Bolivarian schools of Lagunillas Municipality, Zulia State, Venezuela. To obtain the information, two questionnaires of twenty-two (22) items each were applied, with an estimation scale in four alternatives addressed to managers and teacher. The results allow to conclude the level of emotional intelligence according to the dimensions studied is deficient in the educational directors, demonstrating that their leadership is limited to the administrative aspect without becoming proactive, which influences a climate of dissatisfaction in the workforce due Lack of motivation, encouragement and managerial empathy.
