Abstract

The objective of the research was to assess the biological risks present in the work environment in egg-producing family poultry farms through the Biovagal method of the San Buenaventura parish, in the canton of Latacunga, in the months of January to June 2022. An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study, with a mixed approach, is developed in four egg-producing farms. The biological risk of six agents present was evaluated. Farm three showed a greater number of agents, with the need for preventive measures due to low vaccination, poor hygienic practices and high exposure to risky tasks. In contrast, farm one had a single agent, Chlamydia psittaci, with probable spread risk and the highest classification. In general, the farms evidenced biological risks that affect workers and consumers, requiring preventive measures to protect occupational and community health.
