Formulation of organic pesticides from plant extracts for aphid control (Aphis gossypii)

Abstract

The general objective of the research was to formulate an organic pesticide from plant extracts for aphid control (Aphis gossypii) in crops in the El Cebollal sector. For this study, 7 formulations were made with the following percentage proportions; the extracts of the experimental plants spider flower (FA), orange peel (CN) and tobacco (T) being the main solutions at 100% (v/v) of their concentration as extract. Then, three combinations of 50-50% of the main ones were prepared and the last formulation containing the three species in 40-40-20%. Once the pesticides were obtained, they were applied in the field, taking advantage of the selected area, climate, presence of the pest, adjacent crops, and plants were counted, selecting at random 5 units infected by the pest (aphid). It was verified by UV Visible and Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic methods to determine the active ingredients of each pesticide.
