Femicide and its impact on the human rights of Ecuadorian women

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze femicide and its impact on the human rights of women in Ecuador. It was developed under a quantitative approach, by means of research, collection and critical analysis through a documentary, bibliographic and statistical typology. A bibliographic design of documentary type, which seeks reflection and critical analysis, and to build related methods of discernment of the phenomenon and thus evaluate or consider new contexts. In this sense, several laws, norms, reports and agreements were considered in order to investigate and obtain relevant information. It is concluded that violence against women constitutes a serious problem, first in the legal sphere, since this type of violence is customary, that is to say that it is a problem that has been occurring for years, and second in public health because it negatively affects the physical, mental, sexual and reproductive health of women.
