Failure to comply with maintenance payments as a violation of the rights of children and adolescents

The general objective of this study was to analyze the relevance of non-compliance with alimony as a violation of the rights of children and adolescents. The methodology used was carried out from the qualitative approach, complementing it with the documentary-bibliographic method, in order to obtain relevant information and achieve the research purpose in relation to the legal subject studied. An interview was applied to a key informant, judges of the Courts of the Family, Women, Children and Adolescents and to lawyers in free exercise regarding the right to food and non-compliance with it as a form of abuse and violation. It is concluded that, despite the existence of legal clarifications in the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador, and the corresponding laws, serious complications are seen, which silently determine that the non-payment of alimony is an attitude that does not appear as abuse, but that is indispensable.
