The crime of femicide in Ecuadorian, Argentine and Colombian legislation

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the crime of femicide in the legislations of Ecuador, Argentina, and Colombia. This research used the quantitative method, supported by a documentary-bibliographic review. In addition, the inductive-deductive method was applied. The analytical-synthetic method was also used. It is concluded that the creation of an independent criminal definition of femicide or feminicide makes the act visible, allows the crime to be punished in order to eradicate impunity, and becomes a suitable means for the State to learn more about this phenomenon in order to deploy effective actions for prevention, punishment, prosecution, and reparation.
