Contrast-enhanced mammography and abbreviated magnetic resonance imaging in dense breasts: a systematic review

The purpose of this research was to analyze contrast-enhanced mammography and abbreviated magnetic resonance imaging in dense breasts through a systematic review. Methodologically, the study employed a qualitative, documentary approach, utilizing techniques such as systematic review and content analysis, as well as instruments based on data sheets and analysis matrices. Similarly, the PRISMA guidelines were followed in the selection of articles. The results revealed studies related to magnetic resonance imaging, the follow-up that should be conducted at imaging centers, and contrast-enhanced mammography as an appropriate alternative to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), among other findings. In conclusion, it is important to adopt these techniques, which lead to innovation and the early detection of breast cancer.
