Abstract

Objectives: To describe available evidence on nursing care and prevention of complications related to surgical positioning of patients during intervention. Method: Qualitative, descriptive study based on bibliographic review of 20 publications between 2019-2023, including clinical trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Databases such as Scielo, PubMed, Redalyc and Google Scholar were used. Results: The most frequent complications associated with surgical positioning include skin damage, pain and pressure injuries. Prevention requires anticipation by the multidisciplinary team, appropriate selection of patient position and nursing staff experience. Conclusions: Nursing care should focus on preventing complications arising from poor positioning during surgery through specific preventive interventions and interdisciplinary work.
