Non-surgical management of skeletal class II using micro-implants

Objective: To analyze the non-surgical management of skeletal Class II using microimplants, based on a review of the literature. Methods: A search was carried out in PubMed and Scopus, selecting 28 studies published between 2007 and 2023 Results: Microimplants improve biomechanics and aesthetics in the treatment of skeletal Class II, with the interradicular region being the preferred region for placement due to its greater bone density. The bulk retraction technique offers faster treatment, while two-step retraction remains effective in specific cases. Conclusions: The use of micro-implants is an effective alternative for the non-surgical treatment of skeletal Class II. Placement in the interradicular region and adaptation of the retraction technique to the patient's needs result in effective and personalized treatment.
