Nursing care in osteomyelitis

Objective: to analyze nursing care in osteomyelitis. Method: Descriptive documentary, 15 scientific articles published in PubMed were reviewed. Conclusion: Nursing care plays an indispensable role in the integral management of osteomyelitis, ranging from early identification to therapeutic intervention and educational support to the patient. Proper wound management, strict control of antibiotic treatment and prevention of complications such as sepsis are critical aspects in the care of these patients, education and continuous follow-up by the nursing staff are key to minimize relapses and improve the quality of life of those suffering from this condition.
