Abstract

Objective: To analyze the risk factors for urinary tract infection in pregnant women. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Urinary tract infections in pregnant women are a common and potentially serious complication, influenced by both physiological and socioeconomic risk factors. Pregnancy introduces anatomical and hormonal changes that favor these infections, while conditions such as multiparity, gestational diabetes, and antimicrobial resistance further complicate their management. Early intervention and appropriate treatment are critical to avoid complications such as preterm delivery and neonatal sepsis, highlighting the need for a comprehensive approach that considers both prevention and management of associated risk factors.
