Nursing intervention and self-care in patients with diabetes

Objective: To analyze nursing intervention and self-care in patients with diabetes. Method: Descriptive documentary, 15 scientific articles published in PubMed were reviewed. Results and conclusion: The role of nursing is fundamental in patient education, helping the patient to understand the nature of the disease, its complications and the self-care measures necessary to manage it effectively. Nursing interventions play an essential role in promoting self-care in patients with diabetes, improving both their metabolic control and quality of life. Through personalized education, the use of assistive technologies, and a comprehensive focus on the specific needs of each patient, nursing professionals can promote effective self-care practices that help prevent complications and maintain appropriate long-term disease management.
