Objective: to identify the new canine distemper virus lineage. Method: Documentary descriptive. Conclusion: The continuing evolution of canine distemper virus, marked by the emergence of new lineages and their ability to infect a wide variety of species, underlines the need for a comprehensive approach to its management and control. The interaction between emerging lineages, variability in response to existing vaccines, and co-infection with other pathogens highlight the complexity of the disease and the urgency to develop more effective diagnostic and preventive strategies.
