Objective: to analyse the diagnosis and treatment of pyometra in bitches: evaluation of methods and results. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Diagnosis and treatment of pyometra in bitches have shown significant advances thanks to the integration of diagnostic tools such as ultrasound and haemato-biochemical assessment, as well as the exploration of less invasive therapeutic alternatives. However, effective management of pyometra remains a challenge, especially with regard to prevention of postoperative complications and rational use of antimicrobials. Implementation of evidence-based practices and continued research are essential to optimise clinical outcomes and improve the prognosis of bitches affected by this serious disease.
