Abstract

Objective: to analyze the life cycle and clinical picture of Toxocara canis. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: The synthesis of the studies presented reveals a complex interrelationship between the biological mechanisms of Toxocara canis and Toxocara cati, their immune modulation capacity, and the clinical implications in diverse hosts, including their impact on human health. These findings not only highlight the importance of continuing research on multiple fronts from molecular biology to clinical epidemiology, but also underline the need to integrate this knowledge to develop more effective diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, addressing both typical and atypical manifestations of parasitic infection.
