Occupational mobbing and irritable bowel syndrome: A study in public servants

Objective: To evaluate the interrelationship between mobbing at work and between mobbing and irritable bowel syndrome in public servants. Method: A questionnaire was used to evaluate the level of mobbing at work that allows workers to identify and evaluate themselves as victims of psychological evaluation as victims of psychological harassment in their workplace. The population was 538 public servants in a province in the Dominican Republic with a purposive Republic with a purposive sampling of 87 who have a diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome. Results and Conclusion: The harassed workers (13.79%) were identified as frequently presenting with abdominal pain, bloating and changes in bowel habit, gastrointestinal alterations characteristic of IBS. gastrointestinal alterations characteristic of irritable bowel syndrome caused by chronic stress. by chronic stress. In these cases, the mobbing triggers a physiological response in the body to release physiological response of the body to the release of the stress hormone cortisol.
