Objective: To examine the efficacy and safety of sodium bicarbonate in oral health care. Methods: A review of the literature was carried out using the PubMed scientific database. Sodium bicarbonate of soda remains a valuable ingredient in the formulation of oral hygiene products, offering multiple oral health benefits without significant adverse effects. However, further research is needed to establish more precise usage guidelines, especially in vulnerable populations such as children and people with sensitive teeth. The integration of sodium bicarbonate in oral care protocols could significantly improve oral health but should always be considered within the context of a comprehensive and personalized oral hygiene.
