Objective: To analyze dental hypoplasia in children at the "Carita de Ángel" Children's Center and to explore the associated risk factors, integrating sociodemographic and clinical variables. Methods: The population consisted of 40 students. Results: 13% of the sample think that it appears in a common way, implying that they do not know why it occurs, 18% think that it is due to lack of water and the majority of those surveyed (70%) say that it occurs due to diseases or infections of the oral microbiota. Conclusion: The results obtained in the present study on dental hypoplasia in the children of the "Carita de Ángel" Children's Center in Santo Domingo, Ecuador, reveal a significant prevalence of this condition, in line with previous findings in pediatric populations with similar socioeconomic characteristics. Dental hypoplasia, identified as an alteration in the development of enamel, has been associated with various etiological factors.
