Surgical techniques for chronic subdural hematoma

Objective: To analyze the surgical techniques in chronic subdural hematoma. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: It was determined that Burr hole craniectomy was superior to other techniques due to a number of factors, such as avoiding the accumulation of subdural air by replacing it with saline solution from two drains applied during surgery. Likewise, during this technique the use of two trepanation holes added to irrigation and a suction drainage is effective and avoids the sudden appearance of the disease, besides having low recurrence, mortality and morbidity rates in relation to the other methods.
