Abstract

Objective: to identify the factors associated with adverse events in the hospital context. Method: Descriptive documentary study. Conclusion: Among the most prominent factors are infrastructure deficiencies, workload, mood alterations, bed confinement and special diet, re-interventions, surgical complications and falls are the factors most correlated with AE's. Patient and informal caregiver education, skills development and clinical planning can be useful interventions to reduce AE's.
