Abstract

Objective: To describe the humanized care in critical patients from Jean Watson's theory. Method: Descriptive documentary with content analysis. Results and conclusion: The current trend in the care of critically ill patients leads to the adoption of humanized treatment based on Watson's theory which considers the humanistic dimension, the creation of healthy environments and the integral care of patients, which is adopted because critical patients, in addition to the health condition, present psychological manifestations that affect both the quality of life of the patient and his relatives, which implies a process of constant communication with relatives and patient.
