Nursing care in critically ill patients with ischemic stroke requiring alteplase therapy

Objective: To describe nursing care in critically ill patients with ischemic stroke requiring treatment with alteplase. Method: Descriptive documentary study. Results and Conclusion: The care protocols provided by the nurse to the patient are fundamental to guarantee clinical improvement and minimize the possible permanent disabling sequelae of stroke patients. All interventions should be adapted and modified based on the clinical context of the patient, focusing on the control of vital signs, neurological assessment, application of neurological scales, among others, all of these carried out before, during and after the administration of alteplase.
