Objective: to analyze the risk factors associated with the development of pressure injuries in intensive care patients. Method: PRISMA systematic review of 15 scientific articles. Results and Conclusion: The risk factors resulting from the study, although they increase the probability of developing pressure injuries, individually they are not determining factors; however, when presented simultaneously they represent a high probability that predisposes hospitalized patients in intensive care units to develop pressure injuries. It would be necessary for scientific societies to promote the development of a minimum data set that should be included in studies on PBI and the risk factors independently related to their development, given the heterogeneity of current studies.
