Abstract

Objective: to interpret the importance of transporting critical patients in an air mobile unit. Method: Descriptive documentary. Results and Conclusion: The air response system in case of emergencies in the country is managed and provided only by the armed forces and the national police, who provide the service free of charge in coordination with the health units. It is necessary to increase investment and create strategies to develop the service already provided, taking into account that not all cities in the country have third level health units. Air mobile transport was interpreted as a useful tool for the public health system and the emergency system in the transfer of critical patients who need to reach a health unit where there is the necessary medical attention for their case.
