Abstract

Objective: to analyze the relationship between work shifts and mental health in the workers of Triboilgas Cía. Ltda. Method: Descriptive observational. Results and conclusions: There is a relationship between the occurrence of psychological pathologies due to working hours. This is considered important, since there is one worker with somatic symptoms, another with anxiety and insomnia and another with depression. Likewise, none of them has presented social dysfunction. This study confirms that shift work is an occupational risk factor. In this sense, it is suggested that the company studied, as well as others in the same sector, manage to organize suitable working hours or shifts with more rest days, so as not to alter the quality of life of people, as well as their family, social and labor development.
