Prevalence of osteomyoarticular disorders due to poor posture in university teachers

Abstract

Objective: to determine the prevalence of osteomyoarticular affections due to bad posture in teachers of the Technical University of Cotopaxi, La Mana extension. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results: 66% of the teachers have received treatment for their musculoskeletal complaints. Conclusion: There is a high prevalence of osteomyoarticular disorders which are mainly located in the neck and lower back (lumbar region), due to the incidence of daily activities with poor posture and prolonged periods of time for each of the teachers.
