Job stress before and during the covid-19 pandemic among medical personnel

Abstract

Objective: to determine the differences in exposure to occupational stress before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, in the medical personnel of the hospital of Tena - Ecuador. Method: Descriptive observational. Results: In the medium increase dimensions, an increase between 20% - 60% is found. They include job insecurity, which impacts 79.2% of the subjects in the second measurement; the demands of hiding emotions, which reaches an incidence of 75%; double presence (72.9%) and recognition (54.2%). Conclusion: The main psychosocial factors that have a more negative impact in the present stage are: greater quantitative demands, increased work pace, emotional demands, work-family conflicts, insecurity about the job and working conditions, lack of trust in superiors and insufficient recognition for the work performed.
