Abstract

Objective: to determine the influence of the light motor mower on the level of ergonomic risk generated when cutting fodder in family farms. Method: Descriptive observational study. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a study population of 74 farmers was used. Results: The level of ergonomic risk was evaluated with the REBA questionnaire, obtaining a REBA score: 9-13 corresponding to high and very high ergonomic risk in those who use the sickle to cut forage, as opposed to a REBA score: 5-7 corresponding to medium ergonomic risk with the use of the motor-shovel for this activity. Conclusion: The area of the body that frequently generates discomfort in livestock farmers who cut forage with the sickle.
