Psychosomatic manifestations of occupational stress during the pandemic in emergency physicians

Abstract

Objective: to analyze the psychosomatic manifestations of work stress during the pandemic in emergency physicians. Method: Descriptive documentary, in 15 articles located in databases: PubMed, Scielo, Scopus, WOS. Results and Conclusion: Being a general practitioner or specialist, working in hospitals with high workload, low salaries and suffering burnout have predicted lower levels of job satisfaction.  Significant physical and psychological burden was associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Reliable efforts aimed at protecting physicians' physical and mental well-being, improving their working conditions, and raising awareness of burnout should be implemented.
