Abstract

Objective: to identify the prevalence of carpal tunnel syndrome in administrative personnel. Methods: Descriptive observational study. Results and Conclusion: Women aged 36 to 45 and 46 to 55 years old, are those who present the highest number of moderate and severe symptoms, being the most susceptible to suffer carpal tunnel symptoms. The functionality of the hand and wrist of the respondents are not very affected since 72% in the Functional Status Study (FSS) do not present difficulties for the action. The realization of amplitude, movement and stretching exercises would be an adequate and feasible preventive measure against the symptoms of weakness and pain.
