Abstract

Objective: to determine musculoskeletal injuries in electrical construction linemen. Method: Descriptive observational. Results: In the Electrical Construction group of Empresa Eléctrica Riobamba, 45% of the workers have been working between 15 and 40 years, followed by 35% between 5 and 14 years and 33% between 0 and 12 months. Conclusion: The biomechanical effort, movements and duration of the task required by the lineman for the assembly of electric power lines on poles are factors that need to be observed with greater attention and preventive actions should be applied at the level of the source, transmission medium and the worker in order to prevent occupational diseases, since the confluence of several risk factors in the work of linemen can cause permanent and disabling injuries.
