Abstract

Objective: to identify the level of work stress in ICU nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: Descriptive documentary with bibliographic review of 15 scientific articles. Results and conclusions: 48.6% of the stressors were related to the workload of the staff due to tasks that do not correspond to their professional area and the lack of time to give emotional support to patients. The factors of work stress in the evaluated personnel are of an external and internal nature, that is, the former are related to the organization of the health institutions in the evaluated studies, which involve the level of support in providing them with professional inputs to face the critical stage of the pandemic, the excessive planned workload that did not allow them adequate rest.
